| Obverse description | The State Arms of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea occupies the central field, depicting a hydroelectric power station beneath a radiant star and rising sun, framed by sheaves of rice bound with a ribbon at the base. The arms are rendered in fine relief with detailed engraving of the mountain landscape and industrial elements. A circular Hangul legend arcs around the upper periphery identifying the Central Bank of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The date 2002 is inscribed in the lower exergue below the arms. |
