Obverse description Left-facing truncated effigy of Queen Victoria wearing a small coronet set with jewels, her hair dressed in loose waves and gathered at the nape with a ribbon bow. The portrait, engraved by Leonard Charles Wyon, is rendered in high relief with fine detail. The circular legend VICTORIA QUEEN arcs around the periphery, divided by the bust, with a toothed border encircling the entire design. A mint mark appears at the base of the truncation.
