Obverse description Left-facing draped bust of Liberty rendered in the Classic Head style, her hair elaborately curled and bound with a plain fillet inscribed LIBERTY. Thirteen six-pointed stars are arranged in the field around the periphery, seven to the left and six to the right of the effigy. The date appears in the lower exergue. The design is enclosed by a fine beaded border.

Obverse lettering LIBERTY 1833
Reverse description A symmetrical olive wreath, tied at the base with a bow, occupies the central field, enclosing the two-line denomination inscription HALF CENT with a horizontal rule separating the two words. The circular legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA runs along the periphery within a beaded border, flanking the wreath on both sides.
