Reverse description The quartered arms of Württemberg displayed within an ornate cartouche, comprising the distinctive antler emblems and the three lion passant charges of the duchy's heraldic tradition, surmounted by a ducal crown with ermine-lined mantle draped at either side as supporters. The date 1735 and mintmaster initials FB appear in the lower field flanking the base of the shield. The motto legend PER ARDUA VIRTUS (Virtue through hardship) encircles the design in Latin, divided between the left and right periphery of the coin, bordered by a beaded inner circle and a reeded outer edge.
