Reverse description A central inscription panel displays the denomination in two lines: MEDIO Bo above 50 CENTs, separated from the fineness and weight data below by a horizontal rule. Beneath the rule appear 12 Gs 500 Ms and 9 Ds FINO, indicating a weight of 12 grams, 500 milligrams, and a fineness of 9 tenths (0.900 fine silver). The date 1884 is prominently placed in the lower exergue. The central panel is framed by a wreath composed of laurel on the left and oak on the right, tied at the base. The motto LA UNION ES LA FUERZA arcs across the upper field, with the mint initials P·T·S· and engraver's initials F·E· flanking the wreath at lower left and lower right respectively.
