Obverse description A stylized dragon depicted in profile facing right, rendered in a bold, archaic relief characteristic of Georgian hammered coinage. The creature's sinuous body fills the central field, with its head and open jaws oriented to the right and a curled tail forming the lower portion of the design. Above the dragon appear the three Mkhedruli letters სმნ (SMN), an abbreviation of the Georgian royal name Svimon (Simon), serving as the issuer's mark. The design is set within an irregular flan with no formal border, consistent with the hand-struck production method of early 18th-century Kartlian copper coinage.
