| Obverse description | Central field bearing the Portuguese royal arms: a crowned shield displaying the quinas (five escutcheons arranged in a cross, each charged with five bezants), struck in low relief with characteristic crudeness typical of hammered calaim coinage. The shield is enclosed within a simple linear border. No legend is present on the obverse. The overall design is consistent with the reduced-module bazaruco coinage struck at Colombo under Filipe III. |
