Obverse description Crowned and quartered coat of arms of the Counts of Oettingen displayed in the central field, bearing the characteristic diagonal cross (saltire) of the house. The date 1521 appears above the shield. The surrounding circular legend names the three co-ruling counts in abbreviated Latin, separated by rosette stops, all within a beaded inner border typical of hammered coinage of the period.
