Reverse description Enthroned frontal figure of Saint Rupert, patron saint of Salzburg, depicted in full episcopal vestments including mitre, holding a crozier in his left hand and a book or salt vessel in his right. The saint is shown in a hieratic, stylized manner typical of late medieval hammered coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the figure identifying the saint by name and office. The flan is slightly irregular, as expected for hammered silver of this period.
