| Reverse description | Central field displays a crowned quartered shield bearing the arms of Austria and Carinthia, surmounted by an archducal crown in high relief. The shield is set within a beaded inner circle, with the peripheral legend reading ARCHIDVX AVSTRIE ET CARI, identifying Ferdinand I as Archduke of Austria and Carinthia. The heraldic execution is characteristic of the Sankt Veit an der Glan mint, with the Carinthian panther prominently rendered in one of the quarters. The hammered flan produces a slightly irregular surface, consistent with the minting practices of the period. |
