Obverse description Central field features the quartered coat of arms of the Principality of Neuchâtel, surmounted by a princely crown and supported by foliate mantling. The shield displays the traditional arms of Neuchâtel in the upper quarters and additional heraldic devices below. A circular Latin legend reading ALEXANDRE PRINCE & DUC DE NEUCHATEL surrounds the central device, with a period stop at the conclusion of the inscription.

Reverse description Denomination expressed as '1/2 BATZ' in two lines at centre, enclosed within a wreath composed of laurel and oak branches tied at the base. The circular legend PRINCIPAUTE DE NEUCHATEL runs along the outer border, while the date 1807 appears in the lower exergual area below the wreath, completing the design in a clean and classically restrained Napoleonic-era style.
