| Obverse description | At center, the arms of Augsburg displayed within a vertically oriented shield: a pine cone (Zirbelnuss) above a small pedestal or base, the whole set against a plain field within an inner circle. The date 1532 appears above the shield in the upper field. The circumferential legend in Latin characters reads AVGVSTA VINDELICORVM, interrupted at the top by a small cross pattee. The coin exhibits the characteristic irregular flan and bold, hand-engraved style typical of early sixteenth-century German hammered silver coinage. |
