Reverse description The denomination 1/2 BAZEN is inscribed in three lines at the centre of the field, with the date below, all enclosed within a closed wreath of oak or laurel sprigs tied at the base. A mintmaster's initial K appears beneath the date on issues from 1810 onward. The design is simple and legible, consistent with utilitarian circulation coinage of the Swiss Mediation and Restoration periods.
