Obverse description Papal arms of Clement XI displayed prominently in the center of the field, consisting of the tiara (triregnum) surmounting crossed keys of Saint Peter, all set within an ornate heraldic shield. The shield bears the Albani family arms. The pontifical insignia is rendered in moderate relief typical of provincial Papal States coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the design, incorporating the pope's name and regnal year.
