Obverse description Central field depicts the crowned arms of Portugal within a beaded inner circle, rendered in a crude, local hammered style characteristic of colonial Indian coinage. The shield is presented frontally and is surrounded by a plain outer border. This side bears the mint mark 'D-O' (Dio), divided at left and right of the central device, indicating local production at the Diu mint rather than metropolitan Portugal. The design reflects the coin's dual identity as both a Portuguese colonial issue and a locally recognised denomination known as '2 Duganis'. No additional legend appears on this face.
