Additional information

Sardar Singh ruled Jodhpur from 1895 until his death in 1911, a period during which the British Residency exercised considerable influence over princely coinage standards across Rajputana. The half anna denomination in copper was a workhorse of everyday exchange in the bazaars of Marwar, the region Jodhpur administered.

KM#147 is notably heavier than comparable half anna issues from neighboring states, a quirk of the Jodhpur mint's own weight standards that persisted well into the colonial period despite British pressure toward uniformity.
