Obverse description Central design features the Mosque of the Manara (Eidgah Mosque) with its distinctive arched gateway and flanking minarets, rendered in fine detail within the field. The mosque is framed by two olive or wheat branches extending from the base and curving upward on either side to form a wreath. The Arabic word for Kabul (كابل) appears in the upper field above the central motif, while the Afghan solar year date appears at the base of the design within the wreath. The coin's border is defined by a continuous beaded rim.
