Obverse description The Schleswig arms — a crowned lion passant — depicted within a beaded inner circle, rendered in the crude but vigorous style characteristic of small hammered silver coinage of the period. The ducal titles of Friedrich III of Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorp are abbreviated in the surrounding legend, set between the inner circle and an outer beaded border. The overall fabric is irregular, consistent with hand-struck production, and the design occupies the full available field.
