Obverse description Crowned bear passant left, depicted in high relief atop a crenellated wall rendered in the lower portion of the field. The bear, the heraldic symbol of Anhalt-Bernburg, is shown with detailed fur texture and wears a small crown upon its head. The encircling legend PERRVMPENDVM arcs around the upper field, serving as the dynastic motto. The composition fills the flan with bold, confident die work characteristic of mid-18th century German minor states coinage.
