Reverse description The reverse bears an entirely typographic design arranged across seven lines in the flat field, with no figurative imagery, recording the biographical details of Bishop Francis Emmerich Caspar Waldbott of Bassenheim as a memorial inscription. The text records his birth year (1626), his election as Bishop of Worms (1679), his appointment as Custos of Mainz (1679), his role as Scholaster of Speyer (1663), and his death at Speyer on 11 July 1683 at the age of 57. This purely epigraphic reverse is characteristic of German commemorative issues struck to mark the death of a ruling ecclesiastical prince.
