Obverse description A standing stag facing right, positioned before an ornate column or pillar at center, the whole within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend reads the abbreviated joint titles and names of the two ruling counts. The stag, the heraldic symbol of the House of Stolberg, is rendered with fine detail including antlers and hooves resting on a stepped base.
