Obverse description Central field displays the elaborately quartered royal arms of Augustus II, Elector of Saxony and King of Poland, surmounted by a royal crown with flanking palm branches on either side of the shield. The coat of arms incorporates the Saxon and Polish-Lithuanian dynastic quarters. The circular Latin legend runs along the outer rim, with the mintmaster's initials EPH positioned in the lower portion of the field beneath the shield.
