Obverse description Left-facing crowned effigy of King George VI, modelled by Percy Metcalfe, occupies the centre of the field. Reverse description The shield of the arms of Jersey, displaying three leopards passant guardant in pale, dominates the centre of the reverse, engraved by George Kruger Gray with characteristic boldness and fine heraldic detail. The date is divided by the shield, with the first two digits to the left and the last two to the right of the escutcheon. The engravers' initials K and G appear at the lower flanks of the shield. The circular legend '·STATES·OF·JERSEY·' arcs above, while the denomination 'ONE·TWELFTH·OF·A·SHILLING' curves along the lower periphery within a beaded border.
