Obverse description Central field displays a quartered heraldic achievement consisting of the combined arms of Paderborn and Pyrmont, with an inescutcheon bearing the Wolff-Metternich family arms at center. The ornate shield is surmounted by a princely crown and flanked by elaborate baroque scrollwork and foliate mantling. The entire composition is rendered in high relief in the baroque style typical of early eighteenth-century ecclesiastical German coinage.
