Obverse description Central field bears the royal name and titles of 'Abd Allah II rendered in stylized Arabic script, arranged within a decorative geometric or floral framework. The inscription is densely calligraphed in a characteristic Shaybanid style, with elements of the legend filling the available space to the margins of the irregularly shaped flan. The overall design reflects the hammered coinage tradition of Central Asian Islamic mints of the late sixteenth century.
