| Obverse description | Bare-headed right-facing effigy of King Edward VII, with a short beard and moustache, rendered in high relief against a flat field. The portrait is modelled in the style established by engraver George William de Saulles, conveying a dignified and naturalistic likeness of the sovereign. The circular legend reads EDWARD VII KING & EMPEROR, distributed around the upper and lower periphery of the coin in incuse Latin lettering. A fine beaded border frames the design close to the rim. |
