| Obverse description | Left-facing effigy of Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands, depicted as an older portrait with hair gathered and pinned, truncated at the neck. The bust occupies the central field of the coin. The circular legend reads WILHELMINA KONINGIN DER NEDERLANDEN, meaning 'Wilhelmina, Queen of the Netherlands,' arranged around the periphery in raised Latin letters. A small dot appears at the base of the legend near the truncation. The portrait is rendered in a restrained, classical style characteristic of Dutch royal coinage of the mid-twentieth century. |
