| Reverse description | A highly stylised, high-relief lion's head in .9999 fine gold occupies the centre of this lion-shaped coin, its mane radiating outward to form the distinctive outline of the piece. The mane is rendered in vivid polychrome enamel replicating the Team GB colour palette of red, white, and blue, arranged in a pattern evoking the Union Flag. The sculptural treatment combines deeply struck goldwork with coloured enamel to dramatic decorative effect. No inscriptions appear on the reverse. |
