| Obverse description | Horizontal format short-term treasury obligation note. The upper portion carries the denomination «Руб. 1000» at right and the maturity date «Срок 1 Мая 1918 г.» at upper left. A central ornate vignette in dark red features intricate guilloche scrollwork framing the obligation text. The main body bears a printed text in Cyrillic stating the 5% short-term obligation of the State Treasury, payable to bearer on 1 May 1918 at State Banks and their branches, with manuscript signatures of Treasury Department officials and a serial number below.
