| Obverse description | Black intaglio on white paper; at left, a large allegorical vignette presents two classical female figures — one enthroned and one reclining beside a globe — symbolising the Argentine nation and its wealth, surrounded by ornate guilloche work. The Argentine coat of arms with the arc inscription REPÚBLICA ARGENTINA appears at upper centre, the denomination numeral 1000 occupies a bold panel at upper right, and an oval portrait vignette at right shows a uniformed 19th-century military figure in bust.
