Obverse description The national coat of arms of the Lao People's Democratic Republic is centrally depicted in high relief, featuring That Luang stupa above a stylised landscape, flanked by paddy fields and forest, encircled by a cogwheel and floral wreath. The legend THE LAO PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC arcs along the upper periphery in Latin script, while the denomination 1000 KIP is inscribed in the lower field. A fine beaded border frames the entire design.

The legend TEMPLE GUARDIAN is inscribed along the upper arc in Latin capitals. The year of issue 2015 appears in the lower exergue, flanked by the fineness mark Au 999. A beaded border encircles the design.
