Obverse description The obverse is dominated by an elaborate intaglio-printed guilloche framework with ornate acanthus scroll borders and denomination numerals '1000' in each corner cartouche. A central oval vignette carries a portrait of Minerva wearing a crested helmet, rendered in fine stipple engraving. Above the portrait, the text 'Serie NB Amsterdam Uitgifte 1 Augustus 1914' is typeset, with the bank title 'De Nederlandsche Bank' and the value legend 'DUIZEND GULDEN' printed in bold letterpress across the centre field; the note bears punch-hole cancellations consistent with its trial status.
