| Obverse description | Typeset Notgeld note printed in black on cream paper, enclosed within an ornate letterpress border of repeating foliate and floral motifs. A vertical left panel carries the numeral denomination '1 000 000' in bold, flanked by decorative column rules, while the central field bears the large Gothic-script denomination 'Eine Million Mark' with small Art Nouveau vignettes to either side. The date 'Nörenberg i. Pom., den 21. August 1923' and the issuing authority 'Der Magistrat' appear in the lower central field, accompanied by two manuscript signatures above the titles 'Bürgermeister' and 'Beigeordneter', and an applied circular blue official city seal ('Siegel der Stadt') bearing a heraldic eagle in the centre. |
