| Obverse description | Plain white ground with a large circular underprint watermark-style vignette at centre. The heading reads 'Kreishauptstadt Speyer a. Rh.' in Gothic blackletter across the top, underlined by a decorative scalloped rule. The denomination 'Eine Million Mark' is set in large bold Gothic typeface dominating the centre field, with the word 'Notgeld.' above it in smaller script.
