Obverse description Tan and brown Notgeld note with a wavy-line guilloche border frame and the denomination repeated vertically in the left and right margins. The central field carries a large-script calligraphic denomination 'Eine Million Mark' as the dominant vignette, set over a lightly printed underprint showing the numeral '1000000' and flanked on either side by heraldic lion vignettes. Above, a two-line issuing text and a promise-to-pay clause appear in Gothic script; below, the place and date 'Elberfeld, den 10. August 1923' appear at lower left, with the Oberbürgermeister's manuscript signature and title at lower right.

Reverse description Plain tan and brown reverse with the same wavy-line guilloche outer border and 'Eine Million' repeated vertically in both side margins. The central panel displays the calligraphic denomination 'Eine Million Mark' in large Gothic script enclosed within an ornate scrollwork cartouche, with a faint heraldic underprint behind the lettering and delicate pen-flourish ornaments above and below the text block.
