The denomination "Eine Million Mark" is set in a large blackletter typeface at centre, with the numeral "1000000" repeated at upper left and right flanking the word "Gutschein"; a pale guilloche underprint carries the text "1.000.000 Mark" and "Kreis- und Stadt-Sonneberg" in repeat across the field. Below the main legend, the issuing clause names the Stadtkasse Sonneberg Thür., dated Sonneberg i. Thür., den 14.
