| Obverse description | Orange-tinted notgeld issued on plain paper with a woven guilloche underprint, enclosed within a dark letterpress border of interlocking arrow-head ornaments. The denomination 'Eine Million Mark' is set in large Gothic blackletter script at centre, above a multi-line text block stating redemption conditions through the Zwickauer Stadtbank Aktiengesellschaft, dated Zwickau, den 24. August 1923. The lower portion bears the issuing authority 'DER RAT DER STADT ZWICKAU' in spaced capitals, with two manuscript signatures above the printed titles Oberbürgermeister and Stadtkassendirektor. |
