| Obverse description | Typographic note printed in black on a pale grey-lilac guilloche underprint, with a scalloped ornamental border framing the entire face. | Reverse description | Printed entirely in violet-purple, the reverse is composed of an intricate engine-turned guilloche field organised around a large central medallion inscribed 'EINE 1 MILLIARDE MARK' with the numeral '1' at its heart, surmounted by the letter 'N' at top centre. Two flanking oval cartouches each bear the letter 'B', set within a symmetrical arrangement of four large rosette vignettes rendered in fine lathe-work. The issuer's name 'BAYERISCHE NOTENBANK' appears in a plain rectangular panel across the top, and a two-line anti-counterfeiting legal warning is printed in a panel along the lower margin. |
