The Memo Euro series was produced by EuroScope as a commercial novelty line — zero-denomination pieces intended for promotional and collectible use, deliberately designed to resemble official euro banknotes without crossing into counterfeiting territory. The choice of Royal Joh. Enschedé as printer is notable; the Haarlem firm has printed genuine currency for dozens of governments and is not a novelty press, lending these pieces a level of technical quality well above typical promotional scrip.
Stena Line's Hoek van Holland route connects the Hook of Holland terminal to Harwich, one of the oldest North Sea ferry crossings still in commercial operation.
