Memo Euros are a Dutch novelty series with no legal tender status, produced as collectibles and promotional items. This example was issued to mark the return of the Dutch Grand Prix to Zandvoort in 2020 — a race ultimately postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, meaning the event this note commemorates did not actually take place that year.
Printed by Enschedé in Haarlem, one of Europe's oldest continuously operating security printers, dating to 1703. The irony of a non-circulating novelty being produced by a firm that has printed genuine banknotes, stamps, and passports for governments worldwide is not lost on serious collectors.
