The souvenir euro program, administered through licensed distributors at tourist sites across France, launched commercially in 2015. Oberthur Fiduciaire prints these on genuine banknote paper to euro specification, which is part of the point — the tactile authenticity is the product. Toulouse's Jacobin convent, a Dominican foundation dating to 1215 and one of the finest examples of Southern Gothic brick architecture in France, is a logical subject for the series.

The notes carry no monetary value and are not legal tender anywhere. Demand is collector-driven entirely.
