Benalmádena's Sea Life aquarium sits on the Costa del Sol waterfront, and this zero-denomination souvenir falls within the EuroSouvenir programme — a collector scheme launched around 2015 that prints legal-curiosity notes through licensed security printers to satisfy the tourist market without technically constituting currency. Oberthur Fiduciaire, one of Europe's major banknote security printers, handles a significant portion of the programme's output from its French facilities.
