Eurobillet is one of several private French firms that produce souvenir "0 euro" notes — legal in format but carrying no monetary value and never issued through any central bank. Oberthur Fiduciaire prints them on genuine security cotton paper with holographic and UV features borrowed from real euro production, which is precisely the commercial appeal. The notes exist purely as collectibles, sold directly to buyers rather than circulated through banking channels.
Karol Wojtyła was born 18 May 1920 in Wadowice, Poland. The centenary of his birth prompted a wave of commemorative merchandise across Catholic Europe, of which this note is one small piece.
