Oberthur Fiduciaire produces these souvenir notes under license from the European Central Bank, which granted official approval for the EuroSouvenir program specifically to support heritage tourism. The zero-denomination format was chosen to avoid any legal conflict with EU counterfeiting statutes — a genuine regulatory constraint, not a design whim.

The Plaza de Toros de Alicante, completed in 1847, is one of the older bullrings still in active use on the Spanish Mediterranean coast.
