EuroSouvenir's 0 Euro program reproduces Mondriaan's 1903 oil painting *Oostzijdse molen aan het Gein bij maanlicht* — one of his last major works before he abandoned representational painting entirely and moved to Paris in 1912. The choice is quietly ironic: a note commemorating the Dutch master at precisely the moment his career was about to make that style of work obsolete.
Oberthur Fiduciaire prints the entire EuroSouvenir series to genuine banknote specification, including the security thread and microprinting, which makes these legal tender in form if not in fact.
