Euroscope's MemoEuro series occupies an odd niche — legal-format souvenir notes printed to genuine banknote specification but carrying no monetary value, sold as collector items at tourist sites across France and beyond. This example commemorates the Mont Sainte-Odile sanctuary in Alsace, a Benedictine convent on a sandstone ridge above Obernai that has drawn pilgrims since the early medieval period. Royal Joh. Enschedé in Haarlem, one of the oldest continuously operating security printers in the world, handles the production — which at least means the hologram and substrate are the real thing, even if the denomination isn't.
