MemoEuro souvenir notes are privately issued by EuroScope, a Dutch company that has produced these tourist pieces since the mid-2000s. They carry no legal tender status anywhere, but the choice of Royal Joh. Enschedé as printer is not mere branding — Enschedé has printed official Netherlands banknotes and securities for centuries and brings genuine security printing techniques to what is otherwise a novelty item. The result is a souvenir with considerably more technical sophistication than its commemorative purpose demands.
