The name is the real story here. "Le pont de la fausse monnaie" — the bridge of counterfeit money — refers to a Marseille legend connecting a specific span to historical coin clipping and currency fraud. Printing a souvenir zero-euro note celebrating a monument with that name is either a knowing joke or an accident of geography, but either way it lands differently than the usual cathedral or château subject.

Oberthur Fiduciaire produces the entire UEGT souvenir series with genuine security features, which means this piece is printed to fiduciary standards despite having no monetary function whatsoever.
