Comments

The zero euro souvenir note programme, administered under license from the European Central Bank, has been running since 2015 and by 2023 had issued well over a thousand distinct designs across Europe. Oberthur Fiduciaire prints the entire series, giving every note in the programme identical security features — including a genuine eurion constellation and metallic strip — which technically makes them harder to counterfeit than many circulating issues from smaller central banks.

Legal tender for nothing, collectible for everything. CERZA, the zoo near Lisieux in Normandy, is one of France's larger private wildlife parks and a predictable entry point for the programme.
