Part of the EuroSouvenir program, which launched in 2015 and has since produced hundreds of commemorative zero-denomination notes sold as collectibles at tourist sites across Europe. These are legal-format novelty pieces — same dimensions as the genuine €0 souvenir specification, printed by a licensed security printer, but with no monetary value and no central bank backing. Oberthur Fiduciaire's involvement gives them genuine security printing credentials, hologram included, which is precisely why the format gained traction with collectors quickly.
The Joué-lès-Tours issue ties to the town's annual vintage car festival, "Les Autos Enjouées."
